The commander, NDLEA Kano command,  Isa Likita Mohammed, Sunday in Kano  raised the alarm that drug traffickers have resorted to use of consortium  strategy to purchase and  smuggle illicit drugs into the state.

The NDLEA boss  explained that , drug  peddlers contribute monies into a single  purse, which is used to purchase the  illicit  goods from their suppliers  outside the state,  disclosing that this strategy has eliminated  major dealers from their chain   of illegal trade.

He further revealed that the illegal items are smuggled into the city , for onward dispatch to dealers at the lower chain of the unwelcomed  trade.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected activities  within their environs.

Mohammed further appealed to parents to watch over the activities of their children and wards, noting that the command is ever ready to  collaborate with residents in the fight against the menace of drug abuse.

He applaud  Kano state government, the emirate councils and cross section of the public that has continued to support the fight against use of dangerous and hard drugs in the state.
