A group of animal rights bodies across the globe have flagged off a campaign tagged ‘Cargo of Cruelty’, accusing a leading airline in Africa is aiding cruel wildlife trade.
The group said, since launching the campaign in August 2021, the affected airline operator is yet to desist from encouraging cruelty against animals.
The group said “Since then, the airline implicated in the report has done nothing to stop transporting wild animals trapped in wildlife trade.
“By continuing to ship wild animals around the world, this airline is creating a dangerous opportunity for extinction of some wildlife species in source countries and worst still, harbouring a potential breeding ground for diseases to spill over from animals to humans.
The group , Tuesday 9th November 2021, from 06:30am – 08:00am EAT hosted a virtual webinar to launch a public petition asking the implicated airline to stop transporting wildlife for commercial purposes.
