Court stops Nigeria police from arresting  Kano based  radio broadcaster,  Nasiru Zango

A Kano High court has ordered  the Nigeria police to desist from its planned arrest of a renown broadcaster, Nasiru Zango.

The court presided over by , Abdul Mai Wada Abubakar , in a ruling said ” An order of interim injunction is hereby granted restraining the 1st and 2nd Respondents in person or through their offices, agents or privies from threatening to arrest, arresting, detaining or however interfering with the Applicant’s right of expression and press freedom in connection with the subject matter of this suit, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive application.”

The broadcaster attached to a premier private radio station operating in Kano had approached the court through his counsel, Abba Hikima Fagge seeking  the court to halt the commissioner of police , Kano command, Shuaibu Dikko  and one inspector Friday from  apprehending  him.

The court granted the request so sought through the  application , the matter is adjourned to 19th November , for hearing of the Motion on Notice.
