Two Nigerian Police Officers Arrested For Extorting Road Users In Plateau
The Nigeria police Plateau State Police Command has disclosed that two personel have been arrested for committing extortion.
The command said the video of the affected officers had went viral on social media, when they were forcefully obtaining bribe from members of the public
The offence was allegedly committed on 16th April, 2022 along Kadarko Road in Wase Council area of Plateau state, North Central Nigeria
The officers arrested and detained are John Godwin AP/NO302444 INSP and Salihu Garba AP/NO302376/INSP from 66 PMF .
Our correspondent gathered that the officers are currently undergoing orderly room trials.
The Spokesman of the command ASP Gabriel Ubah stated that the two mobile policemen were allegedly captured extorting money from motorcyclists and other road users.
He said that the state Commissioner of Police, Batholomew Onyeka, has vowed to get rid of criminally minded personnel , who fail to comply with the ethical standards of the police..
