Six suspected Kidnappers killed in police shootout Along Benin- Lagos Byepass
Six suspected Kidnappers have been allegedly shot to death in a shootout with police operatives that occurred along Benin-Lagos expressway.
The suspected kidnappers were shot police operatives while attempting to kidnap passengers travelling in eighteen seater bus along the Benin Lagos byepass.
The public relations officer, Edo police command Kontongs Bello, in a press statement said the incident occurred on Wednesday.
He narrated that the command police operatives engaged the suspects in a gun duel on Wednesday .
He disclosed that the passengers were travelling from Lagos to the Eastern Nigeria, when the incident occurred.
He said “ the team of operatives on sighting the suspected Kidnappers who were alleged to be terrorising the ever busy Benin Lagos express road, engaged them in a gun duel which felled six of the suspected Kidnappers while others fled the scene with gunshot injuries.
“One pump action gun was recovered from the scene.
All passengers in the bus were rescued unhurt, profiled by the police and proceeded on their journey while bush combing was ongoing to arrest the fleeing gang members.
