Kano: Women journalists go to polls

Journalists under the aegis of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Kano state chapter will on July 23 cast their ballots to elect the new state exco of the group.
The electoral Credential Committee led by seasoned broadcaster, Aishatu Sule has stated that the sales of nomination forms will take place from 4th to 7th July.
The electoral body in a time table issued out on Sunday morning, in Kano stated that intending candidates are expected to return their forms to the committee, on or before 12th July.
“Screening of contestants 13th-16th July, display of names of contestants and members lists, 16th July, claims and objections 17th July.”
The Credential Committee further said “ display of final lists of contestants 19th July, Congress, election, declaration of results and swearing -in 23rd July.”
Our correspondent reports that the prices for nominations forms have been fixed as follows, Chairperson, N20,000,00, Vice Chairperson, N17,000,00, Secretary, N15,000,00, Assistant secretary, NN10,000,00, treasurer N15,000,00, Fin Sec N10,000,00, Auditor N10,000,00.
Our correspondent gathered that the term of office of the incumbent NAWOJ Kano exco led by Bilkisu Ado Zango of radio Kano ends on 11 July.
