Kano Vigilante Group  Arrest Notorious Burglar

Kano state Vigilante  Group  neighborhood watch officials have arrested a notorious burglar, one Muritala Ibrahim, 40 years old.

The suspect is the alleged  gang leader of the  criminal syndicate that specializes in breaking into  private homes, during odd hours in the state.

The zonal commander, Kano Neighborhood Vigilant Group,  Munir Haruna said the suspect is in their net, adding that the suspect has been on the watch list of the command.

According to him, the increase in reported cases of aggravated burglary, particularly around Kumbotso local government  prompt the command to intensify its surveillance activities in and around the affected streets in the state.

Commander Haruna said “we kept vigil, due to mounting  reports of house breaking and theft and  luckily we ran into the gang leader and members of his gang, after one of their operations in the area, they had broke into a house at about 4:am,  on the fateful day, they were about to move away with the items they stole, when we stopped them.

“Some members of the gang escaped, we succeeded in arresting their gang leader and recovered the exhibits in their possession.”Haruna alleged.

He added that the suspect has provided the command with vital information that will help to unravel those that have abet the gang in conducting their illicit activities.

The suspected burglar, Munir Haruna, who confessed to the crime told our reporter  that his gang has operated in the state, for over two years, he then pleaded for leniency.
