Kano: PDP lawmaker representing Kano Municipal Council decamps to APC
The member representing, Kano Municipal Council in Kano state House of assembly , Salisu Maje Ahmed Gwangwazo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
The Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari , Friday received a formal missive dated 26th April, 2022 , informing the House that Salisu Maje Ahmed Gwangwazo has decamped.
The letter addressed to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly said “Notification of my defection from Peoples Democratic Party to All Progressive Congress”
The member in a letter cited that his decision to joined the APC is predicted on the fact that “there exist a faction in the leadership division of the PDP both at State and National levels, stating that the factions in the party make it impracticable for party activities hence his defection.
Chidari congratulated the Member( Hon Salisu Maje Ahmed Gwangwazo) for joining the All Progressive Congress and assured him that the Party (APC) would carry him and his people along on all matters related to the Party.
He further assured that the party runs an all inclusive system, adding that as stakeholders they all have a stake in the development of the State.
He said there are indicators that the ruling APC would retain its hold on the reins of power in the state come the 2023 general elections.
