Kano drug peddlers change modus operandi NDLEA raises alarm

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA Kano command has disclosed that suspected drug peddlers have devised new methods of smuggling dangerous and hard drugs into the state.
The commander, NDLEA Kano command, Isa Likita Mohammed, Sunday in Kano raised the alarm that drug traffickers have resorted to use of consortium strategy to purchase and smuggle illicit drugs into the state.
The NDLEA boss explained that , drug peddlers contribute monies into a single purse, which is used to purchase the illicit goods from their suppliers outside the state, disclosing that this strategy has eliminated major dealers from their chain of illegal trade.
He further revealed that the illegal items are smuggled into the city , for onward dispatch to dealers at the lower chain of the unwelcomed trade.
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected activities within their environs.
Mohammed further appealed to parents to watch over the activities of their children and wards, noting that the command is ever ready to collaborate with residents in the fight against the menace of drug abuse.
He applaud Kano state government, the emirate councils and cross section of the public that has continued to support the fight against use of dangerous and hard drugs in the state.
