Alleged vandalization of APC Gubernatorial aspirant’s campaign materials in Bauchi, party militants condemn attacks

Party faithful’s under the aegis of APC Youth Progressive Forum have condemned the alleged vandalization of their party posters and billboards that were carried out within Bauchi metropolis.
The group in strong term voiced against the act of thuggery exhibited by yet to be identified political thugs, who destroyed APC billboards, posters that were pasted across major streets within Bauchi metropolis.
Chairman of the group, Ukkasha Hamza Rahama , led member’s of the group on a call to Correspondent Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ, in Bauchi last Wednesday
The group decry the increasing attacks on the opposition parties in the State, especially APC campaign material . In his words “The Delima and unfortunate incidence of the increasing attacks on the opposition parties billboards and posters particularly the All Progressive Congress APC in the State under the watch of the People Democratic Party PDP in Bauchi State , there is urgent need to call the thugs and their sponsors to order”
He cited the vandalization of the billboards and posters of Nura Manu Soro, who is vying for the position of gubernatorial aspirant in the State on the platform of the APC.
“We just woke up on Sallah day and discovered that all Manu Soro’s posters and billboards were completely broken down, while others were vandalized by unknown persons.”
He said “Nura Manu Soro like other bona-fide indigene of the State has every constitutional rights to contest whatever political position he may deem fit to run for, according to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The Chairman appealed to the Commissioner of Police director DSS to arrest the perpetrators and their sponsors, those sponsors to stem the ugly and unfortunate situation and to serve as deterrent to others.
He, therefore, call on their supporters to calm dawn not to take laws on their hands, as all necessary legal action will be done on the matter.
Our Correspondent reports that some of the places where the billboards were allegedly destroyed include; Emir Palace round-about, CBN round-about, Wunti round-about, Central market round-about, Gombe road .
