The Adamawa state command of the Nigeria police force have smashed a three man robbery gang that have continually robbed customers, who emerged from banking halls from across northern Nigerian states.
The spokesman of the state police command, DSP Suleman Yahaya said the suspects namely, Mohammed Yahaya, 40 years old resident of Jos plateau state, Benjamin John 48 years old, resident of Kaduna state and Abubakar Mustapha, 48 years old resident of Kano state are now cooling their heels at the state command headquarters.
He further disclosed that the modus operandi of the suspected robbers was to wait around the premises of commercial banks “once a customer came out of the bank with a bag or sack, they trail him or her.
“usually they can follow their victm throughout the day, when he or she parks her car or get to her destination, then they strike.
DSP Yahya said the syndicate has carried out their criminal activities in various part of Northern Nigeria, which includes, Plateau, Kaduna , Bauchi and Kano.
He disclosed that the police has recovered exhibits, which includes master keys and other valuable evidence from the possession of the suspected robbers.
He described their arrest as a success recorded from a coordinated tactical operation by the officers and men of the command under the leadership of the commissioner of police in charge of the state.
DSP Yahya said investigation into the activities of the demolished gang is still in progress.
