One Abuabkar Sheka has dragged his wife, Hajiya Hafsat before a Kano shariah court sitting at Hotoro , the plaintiff accused the defendant of indulging in polyandry.
The plaintiff alleged that he was legally married to Hafsat, stating that their wedlock subsists, but the defendant went and got married to another man.
The accused woman denied the allegations against her, noting that Abubakar had issued her with a divorce letter, in the past .
Hafsat further told the court that the divorce letter issued to her got lost, during her sojourn to neighboring Nigeria republic.
The accused woman produced two witnessed before the court, who gave testimony in her favour, in their evidence in chief the duo said they were the bosom friends of the man, adding that Abubakar Sheka had once informed them that he had divorced Hafsat.
The presiding judge, Kadi Abba Abdullahi Waya dismissed the allegations of polyandry filed against Hafsat. The court admit as being legal the oral divorce pronouncements that were made to new her by Abubakar, it upheld her marriage to her new groom is legiimate .
