A combine team of security operatives has crushed a notorious human trafficking ring that allegedly specializes in ferrying victims to Libya through Kano, Katsina land borders with neighboring Niger republic.
The leader of the gang, named Nurudeen Sani, a resident of Bachirawa quarters was arrested in Kano by security operatives during am early morning raid carried out on his residence last weekend.
An impeccable security source, who confided in our reporter said “Nurudeen is in our net, he was arrested at his abode at Bachirawa quarters in Dala local government area, we are trailing other members of the gang, who are at large.
“The suspect is very notorious for receiving and accommodating his victims, who are usually young women and men from the Southern part of Nigeria.
“Once they arrive Kano, under his coordination, they will be prepared for onward transportation to Niger republic from where they travel to Libya, in North Africa.”
Our correspondent gathered that the suspected ring leader was apprehended following intelligence reports gathered from credible sources , which culminate to a sting operation carried out by a team of security operatives drawn from Kano Police command , NSCDC,, DSS, HISBAH and NAPTIP.
Our correspondent further gathered that the victims rescued during the raid are currently under going rehabilitation at NAPTIP Kano zonal command.
