Three minors were drown in Kano ,when they tried crossing Kwanar Badawa bridge, when the bridge collapsed culminating into the alleged death of two of the riders.
An eyewitness, Tukur Suleiman, said the children were riding on their bicycles, they were about crossing the bridge when the accident occurred.
Tukur said “we were seated not far from the bridge after the heavy rain last Tuesday, the boys came to the foot of the bridge on their bicycles, just as they climbed the bridge, the bridge collapsed.
“They fell into the canal, they were crying for help, we mobilized and tried to rescue them, we later rescued two of them, although one of them was already dead.
“The third boy is yet to be found, we have searched everywhere in and outside the canal, we could not find him dead or alive.”
The public relations officer, Kano state Fire Service SFS Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, when contacted said that the incidence was yet to be reported to the state Fire Service command.
