Over 20 people loss their lives in fire incidences and water accidents that occurred across the 44 local government in Kano in the month of August, Kano state Fire Service Command has disclosed.
The public relations officer of the command, SFS Saminu Yusif Abdullahi revealed that state command rescued 102 lives through its operations carried out in the month of august.
He added that the state fire service command received 14 false fire alarms from unscrupulous elements, adding that fire stations across the state received the total of 81 genuine rescue calls.
Saminu said “in the month under review, our officers and men gallantly rescued properties worth over N4 million from destruction, while properties with value of over N 5 million were destroyed.
He said the deaths occurred owing to fire disasters, death in open waters and well, he cautioned the state residents to be watchful of indulging acts that would endanger their lives and those of their wards.
