University of Ilorin raise alarm over fake facebook account
The management of university of Ilorin has cautioned the general public to be conscious of a fake social media handle been operated by scammers under the guise of the name of the school.
The ivory tower in a statement made available to journalists said “The Management of the University of Ilorin hereby dissociates itself and the person of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sulyman Age AbdulKareem, from Facebook accounts carrying his name.
“Obviously, such Facebook accounts were created by unscrupulous elements to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
“We, therefore, state here categorically that Prof. Sulyman Age AbdulKareem is neither on Facebook nor on any other social media platform, and would not do any business whatsoever with anyone or group(s) of people on Facebook.
“Members of the University Community and the general public are warned, therefore, to beware of these fraudsters and their nefarious activities.” The official statement stated.
