Umar Datti Foundation Restores Vision to 3,000 Beneficiaries through Free Eye Surgery Initiative
The Umar Datti Foundation, led by Hon. Yusuf Umar Datti, has successfully undertaken a large-scale free eye surgery initiative, benefiting 3,000 individuals in the Kura/Garunmallam/Madobi constituency.
This philanthropic effort aims to address the pressing need for accessible healthcare services, particularly for the underprivileged.
Hon. Yusuf Umar Datti emphasized the foundation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.
Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, praised the initiative during a visit to the Kura General Hospital, where the surgeries took place. He advised other elected officials and wealthy individuals to emulate Hon. Yusuf Umar Datti’s initiative.
The state government has allocated N120 million for Kura General Hospital upgrades, further demonstrating its dedication to enhancing healthcare infrastructure.
Dr. Kamal S. Umar, Chief Medical Officer of Eye Care Saver, remarked: “This program involves thorough screening and diagnosis of patients to determine the severity of their eye issues. Depending on the diagnosis, some patients will require surgical operations, while others will need medical glasses, drugs, or eye drops.”
Alh. Yahya Tijjani Kura, Interim Management Committee Chairman of Kura Local Government, expressed his gratitude to Yusuf Umar Datti for the initiative. He also advised the beneficiaries to adhere to the medical advice provided by the doctors.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, 62-year-old Abubakar Ado Kadawa thanked Yusuf Umar Datti for restoring his sight after ten years of blindness.
