Trouble Ahead APC Convention:: Elected NEC Members revolt
…say NEC can’t sack NEC
BY BENEDICT NWACHUKWU, ABUJA
A group of elected members of All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Committee (NEC) have revolted against the purported dissolution of NEC duly elected claiming that it is only the national convention that has the power to dissolve NEC.
The body said, “This evening the elected National Executive Committee (NEC) members assembled in Abuja to x-ray the activities of the national convention, identify and look at loopholes of what will mar or make the national convention a success.
“And as we have deliberated over the issues and diluted them. It was difficult for us to come to a conclusion today, we have resolved that the meeting will continue tomorrow but the areas of the issues that we have discussed is that APC from the day of formation, at the first convention to the second convention, we were able to come into the convention as a united family.
“So we ask this question within ourselves as NEC members who have not been dissolved because it’s only the national convention that can dissolve NEC. The last meeting of NEC that was held that dissolved Oshiomhole’s National Working Committee (NWC) it was stated that it was NWC that was dissolved. Because NEC can’t dissolve NEC.
So we are back here to see how we can contribute to support and make the convention a success and by so doing, by tomorrow we are going to come out with a Communique on the final decision and position of these elected NEC members
