Ramadan: Kano Muslims flag off holy month amidst fanfare…Emir Bayero offers special prayers

Millions of Muslims residing in Kano has ushered in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan amidst fanfare. Kanoreporters.com reports.
In a state wide broadcast, emir of Kano , Aminu Ado Bayero announced the much awaited appearance of the moon that signals the arrival of the Muslim sacred month.
He informed the millions of Muslim faithful’s living within Kano emirate that the moon has been sighted in Gombe, Zaria and Zamafara, adding that, has received directives from His Eminence, Sultan of Sokoto, for the Muslim fast to commence, adding that the directive is backed by Islamic Jurisprudential pronouncements.
The royal father then directed Muslim adherents in his kingdom to procced to observe the new holy month, Hijri 1443.
The royal father in his benedictions for the new month prayed that peace will reign throughout the country.
Emir Bayero, who offered the prayers in local parlance prayed that “ we seek refuge in Allah, we remain submissive to His will and will forever remain obedient to his laws, statues, and precepts .
“it is time to return to Allah, seek for forgiveness, stay fiom in our beliefs of Allah, we should always remember the day of judgement by seeking the face of almighty Allah.”
The highly revered Aminu Ado Bayero reminded his subjects that the month of Ramadan has a special divine ordination on the Islamic calendar, therefore the monarch appealed to the adherents to exercise the decreed virtues of extending help to those in need. Stressing on the importance to pay special attention to the plight of orphans and widows living in the land.
The monarch cum spiritual leader beseech Allah to grant the leaders the wisdom to discharge their duties with the fear of God, he further prayed for divine intervention in the affairs of .Nigeria.
Our correspondent reports that the atmosphere across the ancient city wore a new mode, last Friday night. Millions of mobile phone calls were exchanged among residents wishigh each other well in the new month.

Earlier, the emir of Kano played host to people from different walks of life, who had thronged the palace to receive the special directive signaling the commencement of the holy month.
