### KSIP Workers Complain About Non-Payment of the N71,000 Minimum Wage in Kano

Workers of the Kano State Investment and Property Company (KSIP) have complained about not receiving the new minimum wage of seventy-one thousand naira (N71,000), which was approved by the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf since November 2024.

If recalled, governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the implementation of the new Minimum wage for all state workers. However, an investigation by *Kano Reporters* has Showed that KSIP employees have not yet benefited from this salary increase, despite four months having passed since the policy was implemented.

This situation has caused growing concern among the workers, especially due to the rising cost of goods, which continues to threaten the livelihood of ordinary citizens.

Further investigation has shown that this delay in salary payments is similar to what was previously experienced by workers of the Kano State Water Board, who faced the same issue in past months. That situation eventually led them to embark on a strike to demand their rights.
