Kano State House of Assembly passed the Amendment of Laws for Five Agencies to Enhance Broadcasting Cooperation and Water Resources
The Kano State House of Assembly has approved amendments to five laws, marking a significant development in the state’s legal framework.
This approval followed a thorough review during a closed session, after which the laws underwent a third reading. The Clerk of the House, Alhaji Bashir Idris Diso, led the process under the leadership of the Speaker, Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore.
The amended laws include:
Kano State Broadcasting Corporation Amendment Law
Kano State Television Authority Amendment Law
Kano State Printing Corporation Amendment Law
Kano State Water Resources Agency Amendment Law
Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority Law
According to the House Majority Leader, Alhaji Lawan Hussaini Dala, the amendments introduce the position of Deputy Managing Director in all affected agencies.
“This measure is aimed at preventing leadership gaps when the Managing Director is absent,” he explained.
Additionally, the House has summoned Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu, the nominee appointed by Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for a commissioner position. He is expected to appear before the Assembly for screening on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
The Majority Leader advised the nominee to limit the number of people accompanying him to avoid overcrowding.
Following this, the House adjourned its session until Wednesday, March 12, 2025, after a motion was presented by the Majority Leader.
