Kano State Government Reaffirms Commitment to Improving the Welfare of Primary School Teachers

The Executive Chairman of the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Malam Yusuf Kabir, has reaffirmed the board’s commitment to improving the welfare of teachers to boost their dedication to teaching.
Malam Yusuf Kabir made this statement in Kiru Local Government Area while distributing promotion letters to teachers and non-academic staff in the area.
According to him, the purpose of the event was to officially present promotion letters to beneficiaries of the state government’s teacher promotion scheme.
The chairman emphasized that the promotion initiative aligns with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s efforts to enhance the well-being of teachers, ensuring they remain motivated and dedicated to their duties.
He further noted that within less than two years of the current administration, long-standing promotion arrears owed to teachers for many years have been successfully cleared.
Additionally, he urged the beneficiaries of the promotion to remain committed to their duties to fulfill the government’s objective of providing quality education for children.
Malam Yusuf Kabir also assured that the board had fully covered the costs of printing the promotion letters, making it unnecessary for any teacher to pay any fees. He warned education officials against extorting money from teachers under any pretext.
He seized the opportunity to appreciate Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his relentless efforts in transforming the education sector in Kano State.
Speaking at the event, the Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT)in the area, Comrade Abdullahi Balarabe, and the Headmaster of Gidan Kwano Primary School, Muhammad Sale Muhammad, commended Malam Yusuf Kabir fo, his unwavering commitment to ensuring that the board operates efficiently and by established guidelines.
