Kano HOS Loud Climate Alarm, Gets 50,000 Seedlings from ACReSAL

THE Kano State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa has-reecho deep concern about the pressing issue of climate change and its far-reaching impacts on the communities.

He emphasized the urgent need for collective action to mitigate its effects.

Speaking today at the flag-off ceremony for a tree planting initiative and the donation of 50,000 economic seedlings to the Office of the Head of Service by ACReSAL,he stressed the importance of sustainable practices in addressing environmental degradation.

The seedlings are set to be distributed to over 160,000 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the state, promoting a greener and more resilient future for all.

He noted that the seedlings will not only play a crucial role in mitigating the effects of climate change by reducing carbon emissions and promoting a healthier environment, but also serve as a valuable tool in poverty mitigation.

The Head of Service, earnestly encouraged all Permanent Secretaries and Directors of various MDAs to champion the tree planting exercise and guarantee maximum participation from all civil servants.

He emphasized the importance of collective ownership and responsibility in tackling climate change and promoting environmental sustainability.

Earlier in his remarks, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim, the State Project Coordinator of Kano ACReSAL emphasized the significance of the tree planting exercise in combating climate change in Kano State.

He expressed his optimism that the efforts put into planting these seedlings will yield tangible results, transforming the climate conditions in the state.

Dr. Hashim envisioned a positive impact on the environment, predicting that by next year, the effects of climate change will be noticeably mitigated, and the state will begin to reap the benefits of a greener, more sustainable future.

He pleaded for continued support and collaboration to ensure the long-term success of this vital environmental endeavor.
