Just In: FG Gives Latest Update On Nationwide Blackout
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that the restoration of the national grid, which collapsed on Monday, is nearly complete
In a statement, the TCN reported that the grid experienced a partial disturbance on Monday, October 14, 2024, at around 6:48 PM and suffered a setback at around 10:24 AM today, Tuesday.
The Company stated that efforts to fully restore power are still in progress.
Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager for Public Affairs, confirmed in a press release that power supply has been restored to Abuja.
According to the statement, recovery began promptly with the Azura power station providing the initial restart.
Mbah stated that by Tuesday morning at around 10:24 AM, grid recovery had reached an advanced stage but encountered a minor setback, delaying full restoration.
