Aviation Fuel Price Hike: Airline Operators moves to Increase Air Fares
The Airline Operators Association of Nigeria has disclosed that it will increase prices of air pickets, noting that the latest moves is owing to the failure by the federal government to honour an agreement reached by both parties
The body noted that Nigerians would be subjected to bear the pains of another round of increase in flight tickets, adding that the new prices will be implemented in couple of weeks.
The vice chairman of the association and the chief executive officer, air peace, Allen Onyema , in a telephone chat with journalists regretted that air travelers would be prone to harder times , through the purchase of tickets at a new higher prices.
He alleged that the federal govt has failed to address the demands by the airline operators, requesting the government to tackle the hike in the price of aviation fuel.
Our correspondent reports that the price of jet A1 fuel has continued to rise at an estimated rate of 45% weekly .
