Kano to Maradi rail project to be completed by 2025 By Musbahu Bala Cediyar Yan Gurasa The Minister of Transportation, Sen. Said Alkali said Kano to Maradi rail project to be completed by 2025. The Minister Who is recently inspected the ongoing works on the Kano-Maradi and Kaduna-Kano rail projects and expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far The Kano-Daura segment is expected to be completed by 2025, while the Daura to Maradi segment is scheduled for completion in 2026. “This is a significant development for the transportation sector in Nigeria and is expected to boost economic activities in the region. The Minister also assured that the Federal Government is committed to facilitating trade and has inspected the existing narrow gauge that connects Lagos to Kano Once completed, this rail corridor will facilitate the optimal use of the Dala Inland Dry Port for the movement of cargo by rail from Lagos to Kano”.
