NCC organizes training on cyber crime for people living with disability

Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has organized a sensitization workshop on cybercrime for people living with disability (PLWD)
The workshop is targeted at sensitizing the participants on cybercrime and right to access to mobile network.
Speaking during at the one day sensitization workshop held at the Multipurpose Sports Indoor Hall Complex, last Thursday in Bauchi, the Zonal Controller, NCC Kano office, Alh Shuaibu Suwadi, disclosed that the Commission has discovered that PLWD’s are vulnerable , stressing that this group of persons are facing challenges associated with cybercrime issues.
Noting that hence the need to educate, enlighten and sensitizing these class of persons.According to him, the aims of the workshop was to educating, enlighten and sensitize the vulnerable people on ways to prevent themselves from falling victims.
The zonal controller, who was represented by the Manager Protocol, Muhammad I. Dawawu, said that the Commission as a federal government body is responsible for regulating the telecom service industries in the country.
He added that Commission is mandated to ensure that all consumers of ICT services in Nigeria are well informed, protected and enforce consumers rights and how they can pursue redress when their right is been infringed on by mobile service providers.
“Consumers have the right to be informed, right to safety, right to choose, right to be heard, right to privacy, right to timely installation and repair service, right of timely and responsive and repair service, right to timely and responsive customer service, right to quality service “.
