Borno wins national quranic recitation competition,. As Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar calls for national peaceful co-existence

Abba Baba Goni Mukthar from Borno state has emerged winner of the 2022editon of the national quranic recitation competition held in Bauchi state.
Our correspondent reports that Haulatu Aminu Ishaq from Zamfara state won the female category of the 36th edition of the recitation competition.
Earlier in his welcome address, at the end of the one week event, chairman Local Organizing Committee , LOC of the competition, Abdullahi Yakubu Marafa, said the competition was hitch free.
He disclosed that 368 male and female reciters from the 36 states including FCT took part in the national competition.
He described the exercise as rigorous , adding that the jury saddled with determining the winners were discreet and fair, he urged the youths to remain committed to spiritual values that will help sharpen their life herein and hereafter.
He further urged philanthropists to support the promotion of religious cause in the interest of humanity. .
In his goodwill speech to the event, His Eminience, Sultan of Sokoto, Alh Sa’ad Abubakar, thanked the government of Bauchi state for hosting the event, he appealed to Nigerians to continue to pray for peace, stability and mutual growth in the coexistence of Nigeria as a nation.
The Sultan, charged the Muslim communities to always hold sacred the transmission of the divine teachings of the holy Qur’an, urging for adoption of ICT in spreading the message of peace, which is the cardinal message taught in Islamic teachings .
The chief host, Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, thanked the organizers of the competition, saying “ I am very delighted and happy with this great milestone achievement during my stewardship as a governor”
Governor Bala made the voluntary donation of N10 million to the 368 participant’s, N10 million to the prize winners and N5 million to the judges .
