Revival of Kwankwasiyya and Amana Cities: Special Committee Commences Operations
In line with the three-month ultimatum issued by Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for property owners in Kwankwasiyya and Amana cities to occupy their houses or risk revocation, the Special Committee on the Revival of Kwankwasiyya and Amana Cities has commenced occupancy verification at Kwankwasiyya City. The committee will extend this exercise to Amana City in the coming days.
As part of its mandate to ensure the swift and complete revitalization of both cities, the committee has begun physical inspections of properties to assess their completion status and occupancy.
This process will aid the government in implementing the governor’s directive effectively.
Leading this initiative is the Chairman of the Special Committee, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, who also serves as the State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs. Survey officials have been deployed to conduct the verification exercise, gathering essential data that will guide policy decisions on property utilization.
Demonstrating his commitment to making Kwankwasiyya and Amana Cities fully habitable and comfortable, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has renovated and fully equipped the Governor’s Lodge in Kwankwasiyya City with essential infrastructure and modern amenities.
The government envisions rapid expansion and sustainable development of both cities, ensuring they are equipped with world-class facilities. This vision aligns with the original master plan initiated by His Excellency, Engineer Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the founding architect of the Kwankwasiyya City project.
To achieve this, the Kano State Government has invested heavily in the expansion and modernization of Kwankwasiyya City, setting a new benchmark for urban development in the region. Governor Yusuf has pledged continued investment in essential infrastructure, ensuring these cities meet global urbanization and sustainability standards.
As the Special Committee works tirelessly to oversee the proper utilization of these vital housing projects, the government remains steadfast in its commitment to providing a livable, well-developed, and thriving urban environment for all residents.
