*AIG SALMAN DOGO, APPRECIATES STAKEHOLDERS, COMMENDS OFFICERS FOR CRIME FIGHTING EFFORTS*
The Kano State Police Command hosted a Send Off Ceremony for AIG Salman Dogo Garba, the outgoing Commissioner of Police of the Police Command. The ceremony took place on 13th March, 2025 at the Police Officers’ Mess in Bompai Kano and was well-attended by notable dignitaries, Police Officers, and community stakeholders.
AIG Dogo, who has served with distinction and commitment, was celebrated for his exemplary leadership and unwavering dedication to ensuring peace and stability within the State. Under his stewardship, Kano State has witnessed a significant reduction in crime, fostering a safer environment for its residents. His innovative approaches to community policing and collaborative crime-fighting strategies set a benchmark for law enforcement practices in Nigeria.
The ceremony featured various tributes from esteemed guests, including the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kano State on Community Policing, Members of PCRC and other community policing stakeholders, all acknowledging AIG Garba’s contributions to public safety and his efforts to strengthen police-community relations.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Audu Sabo who delivered a welcome remark, stated that “Today, the Kano State Police Command gathered to bid farewell to outgoing Commissioner of Police, AIG Salman Dogo Garba, who has been promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police. AIG Dogo’s exceptional leadership and dedication have made a significant impact during his tenure, maintaining peace and security in Kano State. As he begins his new role, the Command wishes him continued success and growth, confident that his expertise and experience will be invaluable. Similarly, Speaking on behalf of the Command, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), DCP Abubakar Abdullahi Shika congratulated the outgoing Commissioner of Police for his promotion to Assistant Inspector-General of Police. He further commended the AIG for demonstrating unwavering dedication, professionalism, and integrity throughout his tenure and extended best wishes and success in his new role.
In a gesture of appreciation for the hard work and commitment displayed by Police Officers and community stakeholders, the outgoing CP presented awards to some deserving individuals. These awards recognize the invaluable contributions made by Officers and Stakeholders in enhancing security, promoting peace, and resolving conflicts within Kano State. Among the awardees were officers who excelled in their duties and community leaders who played significant roles in fostering collaboration between the Police and the community.
