The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Rt. Hon. Yusif Abdullahi Ata, has cautioned Senator Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to refrain from making statements that could further divide the country.
Kwankwaso, a two-time governor and former minister, recently alleged that Lagos was attempting to dominate Kano by interfering in the selection of its Emir.
“The issue of Kano emirate is still pending in court, and Kwankwaso’s recent remarks may be perceived as contempt of court,” Ata stressed through his media aide, Adamu Aminu.
In light of this, Minister Ata urged Kwankwaso to consider the impact of his words and promote constructive dialogue instead.
“As leaders, we must prioritize national unity and avoid inflammatory rhetoric that can exacerbate tensions,” Ata concluded.
