Group of friends organises Golf tourney for Kaura Saminaka in Kano
Some group of friends have organised a one day Golf kitty tournament in honour of Kauran Saminaka
Alhaji Umar Adamkolo Umar over his recent turbaning by the Emir of Saminaka in Kaduna state, Alhaji Ibrahim Sani.
The competition was held at Kano Club golf section attracted eminent personalities within and outside the state who gracious attended the event to celebrate with traditional title holder, Alhaji Umar Adamkolo Umar.
Speaking, the former veteran journalist, Nasiru Balarabe Zahradeen described Alhaji Umar turbaned as a well deserved considering his contributions to the development of various community across some northern part of the country.
Zahradeen revealed that with this development, he assured the Kauran Saminaka will continue to redouble efforts especially in his commitment to render selfless service to the Saminaka community and Kano as well as Borno state.
The former Nigerian Television Authority NTA staff explained that with the current situation in some parts of northern state all hands must be on deck to overcome the challenge.
In their separate remarks. the former aide of Zamfara state government, Alhaji Umar Lawan Gusau and Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi Bagwanje have described the turbaned of Alhaji Umar as a significant to the Saminaka community.
Some who spoke at the occasion have applauded the Emir of Saminaka for turbaned Alhaji Umar Adamkolo Umar as Kauran Saminaka.
They charged Alhaji Umar to continue to do his best towards promoting and developing the Saminaka emirate council for the upliftment of the traditional institute in the state and the country in general.
In his short speech, the celebrant, Alhaji Umar thanked the Emir of Saminaka, Alhaji Ibrahim Sani for given him the title, assuring that he will do everything possible to remain loyal and committed to the emirate council.
The Kauran Saminaka however, expressed appreciate to all those who have contributed in one way or the other toward organizing such colourful golf competition.
He said that with the continue support from well wishers, friends, and emirate council, he will not disappoint them in discharging his responsibility.
Highlights of the event include presentation of prizes and gifts to the winners of various category of the tournament.
Among the highest personalities who graced the occasion include for military administrator of Jigawa state, Colonel Abba Zakari Maimalari, the former chairman of Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ, Kano state council, Comrade Abdulkadir Ahmad Kwakwatawa, board of trustees of Kano Club, Alhaji Iro Yahaya, former chairman of Kano Pillars Football Club, Alhaji Kabiru Baita among others.
