Ahead Tribunal Judgment: My Mandate Will Stand-Tinubu. I Am Worried Says Lawyer Falana SAN

Ahead of the September 6 date set for the delivering of the judgment by Nigeria’s Presidential election court, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu last Monday has expressed the optimism that his electoral mandate will be upheld by the laws.
The Nigerian President said , he harbors the strong faith and conviction that the electoral court will pass its decisions based on the credibility of the weight of the evidences tendered before the court.
According to him, the current administration under his watch has high respect for the sanctity of the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary, explaining that, this is the core reason the more why his government is cautious of not getting involved in any act that would derail the independence of the judicial arm of Nigeria’s government.
He further stated that his government guarded against making noise to allow for the judicial officers to concentrate in delivering justice, adding that the presidential election panel is composed of judicial officers with high level of proven integrity.
President Tinubu speaking through his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, on Channels television daily night show, Politics Today , Monday night said he is not perpeturbed by the likely outcome of the verdict that will be passed by the presidential election tribunal, noting that rather the Tinubu presidency have opted to pay attention to national issues, while awaiting the court to do justice to the matter before it, in the interest of justice.
In same matter, Nigeria’s frontline lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN has expressed worries over the alleged intimidation and blackmailing of the judicial officers presiding over the various post election courts across the country.
He decried the alleged criminal strategy and illicit tactics been adopted by some persons, he failed to name , who he alleged were hell bent in seeing through that their choice candidates are declared winners by the electoral courts.
Falana speaking on the same platform had alleged that the level of intimidation and blackmail of judicial officers handling electoral cases at various levels is been unprecedented.
He said, irrespective of the height of blackmail and intimidation, the judicial officers assigned to election cases will deliver their verdicts, adding that some will win some others will lose their cases before the courts.
The Lagos based radical lawyer , then urged those that would be displeased by the outcome of the verdicts that will be passed by the court to explore the provisions of the law in seeking for redress.
He commended the members of the election courts for their maturity in refusing to join issues with those behind the campaigns of calumny, that in his opinion were contemptuous , while urging the courts to ensure that they dispatch similar maturity in delivering judgments that are stirred by facts and evidences that were before their courts.
