Labour Party Leaders decamp to APC. As former Nigerian ambassador Jerry Ugokwe storms Kano for Gawuna

Hundreds of members of the opposition Labour Party,LP Thursday , in Sabon Gari Kano have officially announced their decamping to the ruling APC.
The APC new entrants at a ceremony to usher them into the APC fold held at Danwaire School premises located along Ibo road by Emir road took turns to disclose that the motive behind their switch of political allegiance is to work for the success of Gawuna-Garo governorship ticket.
A frontline Labour Party youth leader in the state, Lambert Ojigwe addressing the gathering said their decision to switch support to the Gawuna-Garo APC governorship is targeted at attracting the execution of more developmental oriented projects to Sabon gari community.
Ojigwe said “ we still have problems in Sabon Gari, our challenges are numerous, to name a few, we have challenges with water supply to our area.
“we will support Gawuna, for him to also remember our community, we need more roads to be constructed, hundreds of our youths needs to be gainfully employed, we will support the ticket for them to remember us.” Ojigwe stated.
Speaking at the gathering, a renown women activist cum politician, Favour Felix said her network have mobilized women to choose Gawuna as their ballot franchise, during the March 18th governorship election in Kano.
Favour said “ our party Labour Party has no candidate for governorship, that is the purpose why , we are here today, which is to make our position clear that we are supporting Gawuna, we will cast our votes for him and his deputy, Muritala Sule Garo.”
In her address, popular Sabon Gari politician, Madam Linda, said “ we are here in our flesh and blood with all our strength we will support and work for Gawuna to become the next Kano state governor.”
The convener of the august ceremony, Seyi Olorunshola, who welcomed the new entrants to the party, he assured the new party militants that they will be accommodated into all strata in the structure of the ruling party in the state.
Seyi urged the inhabitants of Sabon Gari to surge out in mass to vote for Gawuna as the next executive governor of Kano state.
He boasted that the mass decampments from the opposition party to the APC is an indicator of the good things in the offing for the party, adding that this is also an indication that the party will emerge victorious at the forth coming governorship and state House of Assembly elections in the state.
He said “ Sabon Gari , after the presidential election now wears a new political ideology, which is draped in the Gawuna-Garo franchise.
Nigeria’s former ambassador to Austria, Jerry Ugokwe, who witnessed the event thanked all those who made the change in political gear, in the area possible.
According to him, in the preceding seven years of the Ganduje administration , Kano residents have enjoyed peace and economic progress.
He appealed to ethnic communities in Kano , when making their choice on the forth coming polls , to take into account the peaceful atmosphere that has reigned in the state, since the inception of the Ganduje administration, urging them to settle for the option to cast their votes for Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Muritala Sule Garo on the platform of the ruling APC, for continuity sake.
