*SWAN Kano Chapter Mourns the Loss of Sports Presenter Sani Abubakar Abdullahi*
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State Chapter, is deeply saddened to report the untimely death of our beloved member, Sani Abubakar Abdullahi, affectionately known as Dannata. Sani, a dedicated sports presenter and reporter with Tauraruwa TV, tragically lost his life in a ghastly motor accident on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Dorawan Sallau in Garum Mallam Local Government Area of Kano State.
Sani joined the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) last year as an Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics II (ASN II), serving with the Kano State Command. His commitment to both sports journalism and public service left a significant impact on both the media landscape and his community.
Comrade Zaharaddeen Sale, Chairman of SWAN Kano State Chapter, expressed his condolences on behalf of all members: “We are heartbroken over the loss of Sani. He was not only a talented journalist but a wonderful person who embodied the spirit of sportsmanship and community service. We pray that his soul rests in eternal peace, and may Jannatul Fiddausi be his final abode. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time, and we ask the Almighty Allah to grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
Sani Abubakar Abdullahi will be remembered not just for his contributions to sports reporting, but also for the positivity and dedication he brought to every aspect of his life. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations in the fields of journalism and public service.
