An investigation to unravel the mystery surrounding the sum of N345 million missing from the coffers of Kano state shariah court have began. Kanoreporters.com can reveal.
The missing inheritance monies meant for heirs and heiresses has generated outrage among residents, who described the disappearance of the huge sum from the custody of legal authorities as funny and mesmerizing.
The chief registrar, Kano Shariah Court, sheik Haruna Khalil had confirmed that the commission had discovered that the monies have developed wings and disappeared from the official vaults of the courts, where they were kept for safe keeping purposes.
Sheik Khalil explained that the courts authorities discovered the that the heist has been perpetrated, when officials sent to carryout withdraw from the account discovered that only N9million was domicile in the account designated with a commercial bank(name withheld).
He further alleged that , official computers used in concerned offices connected to the custody of the missing monies were missing, the theft of the computers is suspected to have been carried out to cover up the illicit act committed the yet to be identified perpetrators of the scam.
The acting chairman, Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission. PCACC Kano, barrister Mahmud Balarabe also confirmed that the commission has received formal complaints about the missing monies.
He further stated that the commission has commenced investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the heist.
The public relations officer, Kano High court of justice, Baba Jibo averred that investigations into the matter has began, he appeal to the parties affected to remain calm pending the outcome of the initiated investigations been carried out into the alleged scam. He reassured that all necessary judicial tools will be mobilized to reach logical conclusion in unraveling what transpired in the matter.
