The executive Secretary of Kano state private and voluntary school Board o Baba Abubakar Umar said that they will take all the measures provided by the law against some schools that are found to be studying in buildings that don’t have good quality building and are on the verge of collapse, and those that are in the middle of the market, which the law does not allow to do so.
During a visit by some journalists to the schools shortly after receiving the Information about the schools , the investigation team of journalists found some buildings that are uncompleted, and students are taking lessons inside. There is no plaster in the classrooms.

The schools include Matasa Senior Arab and Secondary School, Naibawa; Best Alternative Comprehensive College, Sheka, and Ibn-Masud Science College, Kabuga.

Despite the bad quality of the schools, students were found writing their Necco exams in the kind of upstairs that were about to collapse, then littered with debris.

Then, he said that the era of closing schools has calmed down, but from now on they will prosecute the schools that break the law in court to face the consequences of what they have done.

Baba Umar stated that they have completed all the arrangements with the state ministry of justice and the state anti-corruption agency to take appropriate action against school owners found to have violated the law and regulations.

“We have witnessed many school buildings have collapsed in Abuja, Lagos and other states due to human willful reasons.
We will not let this happen in Kano. You have seen the condition of buildings and environment used by some private schools in Kano.

“You have seen how some of them are about to collapse and the unfinished buildings are still being used as classrooms. Buildings without windows and doors, classrooms with leaking concrete, classrooms without good roofs, and I filled them.
In this kind of classroom, why are children being put in to take lessons”. According to Baba Umar.
