Governor Abba Kabir Moves against Open Defecation
Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has heightened the campaign against open defecation in the state.
It is reported that 6 local government areas have embarked on the part to becoming Open Defecation Free (ODF).
According to reports 26 LGA’s have attained the status to be certified as ODF.
The state government in unison with UNICEF have been in the fore of the campaign on the ills of open defecation, the campaign involves creation of awareness, advocacy and sensitization programmes .
The state government through its office for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) under the Ministry of Rural and Urban Development has sustained the campaign against open defecation .
The LGA’s schedule to attain the ODF status are, Sumaila, Tudun wada, Doguwa, Tofa, Bunkure, and Garun Malam.
