*NSCDC and Kano’s Task force on Security Collaborate to combat crimes and criminality in the state*

The Kano state Task force on Security, peace and Youth rehabilitation has called on the state Commandant of the Corps, Kano State Command, Comdt Shafi’u Abdulmumini in his office at the state headquarters.

The high powered delegation was led by Kano state government, commissioner of science, technology and Innovation, Dr Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar mata, who in his address during the visit, appreciated the massive contribution of the Corps in providing security to particularly public utilities, emphasizing that the state government, under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is determined to supporting and augmenting the services of security agencies in the state for a well secured Kano. The honorable commissioner sought the assistance of civil defence for fulfilling the committee’s terms of reference and its successes. ” We’re all set to work in conjunction with all the security outfits in the state and in doing so we’ll engage in using kinetic and non kinetic approaches in containing the menace of insecurity in the state”, Dr Yusuf stated.

In his response, Commandant Shafi’u pledged continous support and assistance to the Task force. The State Commandant further highlighted the core mandates of Civil Defence, disclosing that the Corp will give maximum support and cooperation to the committee, ” we’re ever ready to render necessary assistance to this very important committee to make sure it actualizes its terms of reference”, Comdt Shafi’u assured.

The Kano state commissioner of Information, Ambassador Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya, who’s also a key member of the Task force, spoke at length providing insights into the committee’s aims and objective. Other members of the security Task force who were present during the visit include: State Commander of the NDLEA, representatives of the Nigerian Police, DSS, Correctional service, Nigerian immigration, Commander vigilante group and a host of relevant stakeholders.
