15 People Shot Dead at a Clash Between Wike’s Supporters and Gov. SIMI Fubara’s Loyalists,
Following a violent clash between supporters of Rivers State Governor Simi Fubara and those of former Governor Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, tensions have escalated between the two factions.
The crisis erupted as Wike’s supporters attempted to seize control of the state’s administration by force from Governor Simi Fubara, leading to the death of 15 people.
Reports indicate that major roads have been blocked, with authorities instructing residents to stay indoors.
Before this incident, Governor Simi Fubara had suspended all NNPCL operations in the state due to the federal government’s decision to withhold monthly allocations to Rivers State, unlike other states.
