In a message posted on his Facebook page, Sanusi Bature D-Tofa, the spokesperson for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, stated that his principle is to do what is right for the people, as he holds a responsibility towards them. Bature added that “By Allah, anyone elected by the people must fulfill their obligations.”

Sanusi Bature made it clear that he is not interested in enduring humiliation just for the sake of political ambition.
He emphasized that he is a man of integrity and believes in destiny, saying, “It is much easier for me to step away from contesting than to compromise the dignity of our people.”

He further questioned the necessity of the contest, saying, “Do you think life depends on it? If withdrawing from the race is what it takes, then I will. Especially since you have no intention of changing your ways.”

For a while now, there have been speculations that Bature is eyeing a particular political seat, which has caused friction between him and the federal lawmaker representing Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa constituency, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe.

Previously, a video surfaced showing the lawmaker complaining and accusing Bature of undermining him. Now, Bature has openly expressed his dissatisfaction with Jobe’s style of representation.
