KHAIRUN VC hosts reception for basketball team

The Vice chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu university KHAIRUN, Professor Abdulrashid Garba has hosted the university’s basketball team for their brilliant performance at the recent concluded 1st Kanawa Tertiary institution basketball championship.
Speaking at a mini reception, he personally organised in honour of the players, coaches and officials of the team held at the university premises.
The vice chancellor who described the performance of the team as superb, pledging to continue to support and encouraging them to do more in future championship.
Professor Abdulrashid Garba who was the former veteran basketball star and a three pointer expertise said the leadership of the university’s commitment and support, the sky will be their limits.
“This really shows that KHAIRUN is all around academically and sports,. This is your outing in this kind of tournament and you have projected good the image of the university. We’re really proud of your commitment and discipline throughout the championship,” he explained.
While expressing gratitude to the university’s proprietor for supporting the team morally and financially, he urged the players to also concentrated on their academic programme aimed at achieving their objective.
Responding, the university’s head coach, Aisha thanked the VC and Management for their support, assuring that the players will continue to take vigorous training ahead of future championship within and outside the state.
Highlights of the event include presentation of certificates to the players. Coaching crew and officials as well as entertaining them with soft drinks, food among others at the occasion.
