*SWAN Kano Holds a Capacity Building Workshop For It’s Members*

Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kano State Chapter embarked on Strategic a one-day capacity building workshop for its members on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Declaring The Workshop open at the Kano Sports Commission,The SWAN National President, Comrade Benjamin Isiah,
commended the Kano Chapter for Unwavering Commitment towards
organizing the training to enhance the capacity of Members, describing it as a “laudable initiative” that would shape sports journalism in the state.
Isiah Who is represented by National Ex-Officio of Swan,Rilwanu Idris Malikawa Garu, Call for the Swan members to wake up in Objective sports reporting.
The registerer of Khalifa Isyka Rabiu University Kano KHAIRUN Barr.Yusuf Datti presented his paper Tittle “Understanding tennis rules, surfaces and match technics.
Also In his remark, a renown Sports Veteran,
Abdulgafar Oladimeji,esq.
called for journalists to always be mindful of the sports and committed to their duty,then urged them to focus on the investigatave of sports reporting.
Speaking at the event SWAN Kano State Chapter Chairman, Comrade Zaharaddeen Saleh,said capacity-building workshop is aimed in promoting excellence in sports reporting and fostering unity among members.
He appreciate his executive members for the successful delivery of the program.

He then emphasizes continues in prioritizes the welfare and sensitizing the members.
Comrade Saleh Said Kano SWAN organize the workshop as of the program performed as kano Swan week,as part of the International Peace Day celebrations, which set aside by the United Nations.
Some of the Important stake Holders who attended at the workshop included Chairman Referees Council Auwalu Ali, Secretary Nigerian Football Coaches Association Kano Branch Mukhtar Ya’u Baggio, Former Kano Pillars GM and President Kano Veterans FC Abba Galadima, and Director of Sports Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST) Wudil Abdussalam Abubakar.
A part of the resource persons, Who presented the papers including Sports veteran Abdulgafar Oladimeji,esq. presented papers on Modern Sports Journalism and Sports Arbitration.
Other topics covered included Translation and ethics in Sports Journalism by Rilwanu Idris Malikawa and Understanding Tennis: Rules, Surfaces, Match Officials, Match Formats, and Tournament classifications, presented by Director of Dala Hard Court Tennis and Registrar of KHAIRUN University Kano, Yusuf Datti.
At the first day SWAN Kano donated Basic essential commodities to the Nassarawa Oponage Home,Kano
Materials are including detergent, laundry soap, medicated soap, and cartoons of biscuits.
