3rd Edition of Gusau/Ahlan cup Describe as most Peaceful, Entertainment Competition–Stakeholders

This year’s (2024) Gusau/Ahlan Pre Season Soccer Tournament has come to an end after spending two weeks in Jos the Capital city of Plateau State, Sixteen football clubs across the country competed among themselves.
The competition which is the third edition has been described by many football stakeholders as the most peaceful, entertain and passionate among others organized in the previous years.
Lobi Stars football club of Makurdi is the champions of the tournament after beating Wikki Tourist football club of Bauchi State by 4-3 via penalty after they played 1-1 draw in the regulation time, during the final match of the competition yesterday Friday 30/8/2024 at the New international Stadium Jos, plateau state.
The champions Lobi Stars football club went home with trophy and one million Naira while Runners up Wikki Tourist football club went home with trophy and five hundred thousand Naira.
The competition became an avenue for the participating teams to showcase their preparation and corrections where necessary ahead of the 2024/2025 football Season.
The Local Organizing committee of the competition headed by Alhaji Sabo Abdullahi Dutse and the General Co Ordinator Alhaji Abahuraira Dahiru expressed gratitude to the Plateau State Governor Barrister Caleb Mutfwang for accepting to host and sponsored the tournament.
The committee then thanked Government and good people of Plateau State, Plateau State football Association, all the sixteen football teams that participated the tournament for the sportsmanship they showned throughout the tournament, Referees, Media, Security Agents and all those who contributed in one way or the other in making the competition a huge success.
Special appreciation also goes to the President of the Nigeria football federation Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON and board Member in the federation Alhaji Sharif Rabi’u Inuwa Ahlan for approving the competition to be rotated across the states in the country.
It would be recalled that the first and second edition was played in Kano and Bauchi States and by God grace in due course the Organizing committee will Officially announce the next state that would host the tournament in the Year 2025.
The Gusau/Ahlan Pre Season Soccer Tournament Jos 2024 was rounded up with presentation of an awards to Plateau State Governor Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, former Commissioner Sports plateau state and now commissioner water resources plateau State Alhaji Bashir Lawandi, and President Nigeria football federation Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON.
Others are former Deputy Governor Nasarawa State Mr. Silas Agara, former Director General National Sports Commission Alhaji Alassan Yakumut, Permanent Secretary ministry of youths and Sport Nasarawa State Barrister Isaac Danladi.
The rest were board members in the Nigeria football federation Alhaji Sharif Rabi’u Inuwa Ahlan, Mr. Thimothy Magaji, States football Chairmen of Plateau, Jigawa, Bauchi, Nasarawa, Gombe, Yobe, Adamawa, Lagos and football Club Chairmen of Plateau United, Nasarawa, Wikki Tourist, Gombe and former Plateau State football Association Chairman Mr. L. Sunday as well as the Plateau State base Sports journalist Attahiru Babayo among others.
