KNSG CELEBRATES ISLAMIC NEW YEAR 1446 Kano State Government has celebrated the advent of the Islamic New Year 1446

The celebration held at Sani Abacha indoor stadium.

Emphasizing its significance to Muslims worldwide. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf addressed the event, underscoring the administration’s dedication to promoting and honoring Islamic traditions.

In his speech, Governor Yusif represented by the Commissioner of Information Baba Halilu Dantiye highlighted the importance of the Islamic New Year celebration for Muslims globally, stating, “This event is a profound reminder of our rich Islamic heritage and the values that unite us as a community. It is essential that we come together to celebrate and reflect on our faith.”

The Commissioner also highlighted the government’s commitment to education, with a particular focus on Islamic education.

“Our administration prioritizes education as a cornerstone for development. This year, we have allocated 30 percent of our budget to education, which includes significant investments in Islamic education. This reflects our commitment to fostering an environment where Islamic teachings can thrive alongside modern education.” He added

Dantiye urged the organizers to expand the celebration to include all 44 local government areas, involving more stakeholders to ensure a grand and inclusive event.

“To make this celebration truly representative and impactful, I encourage the organizers to extend the festivities across all local government areas. Additionally, I call on relevant stakeholders and media organizations to join hands in ensuring wider publicity and participation.”

The Commissioner said the state government remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that celebrate and preserve Islamic culture and value

“As the Islamic New Year 1446 begins, the administration looks forward to a year filled with progress, unity, and continued commitment to the welfare and education of its people”. He stated.

The new year Hijira celebration was organized by Kano State Shari’ah Commission in Collaboration with Kano State Council for Quranic and Islamiyya Schools Association.
